InfoComm08 show officials are expecting 30,000 AV industry professionals at next month's show at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Conference sessions run June 14-20 and the show floor is open June 18-20.
InfoComm08 will have a variety of new offerings this year. Most noteworthy is the addition of the NSCA Systems Integration Expo, a separate conference and exhibition that has traditionally been held in March.
"We welcome the NSCA community. By incorporating it into InfoComm08, we're really bringing the best into our show," said InfoComm08 executive director Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D. "It's going to be one big show for the industry, which will amount to a huge cost savings."
A combined event doesn't mean the NSCA brand is going away. NSCA workshops are being held in the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 16-20.
"The NSCA Systems Integration Expo experience is still available," explained NSCA executive director Chuck Wilson. "No matter what your specialty is or what companies or industry peers you want to visit, the show can be easily navigated. NSCA can now focus exclusively on our member's needs. We're reinvesting the resources from our show to specifically help members solve problems, save time. and make money."

| InfoComm08 has combined with the NSCA Systems Integration Expo to form one large show for the industry. |
For those NSCA attendees scouting for familiar faces, InfoComm08 has set up a dedicated area of the show floor in the Central Hall of the LVCC called the NSCA Zone, where NSCA members can network. The NSCA Zone will offer plenty of networking opportunities and free show giveaways.
NSCA will also have a new Electronics Systems Pavilion in the Central Hall, which will feature low-voltage systems including life safety, data, security, and paging systems. The pavilion will also house InfoComm's popular Immersive Audio Experience, where attendees can check out multi-channel audio and video environments.
Also new for 2008 is the Digital Signage Technology Summit, a two-day conference June 16-17. The summit will discuss how you can implement digital signage technologies and evaluate the market overall. It's targeted to healthcare, education, corporate, and government agencies, as well as AV integrators, systems contractors, and dealers. The Digital Signage Technology Summit requires separate registration from InfoComm08, along with an additional fee.
And for the first time, InfoComm will co-locate with NXTComm at the LVCC. The show targets information and communications technology suppliers and is expected to attract some 6,500 attendees. NXTComm conferences run June 16-19 and the show floor is open June 17-19.
"This is a great opportunity for us to bring in another trade show. I'm really pleased they're co-locating with us," Lemke said.
Many of InfoComm's popular show floor attractions are returning for 2008, including the Collaborative Conferencing Pavilion, Audio Pavilion, Lighting & Staging Pavilion, Digital Signage Pavilion, Large Venue Display Gallery, and GUI Design Gallery. InfoComm's popular AV Systems Rack Integration Challenge will also be back.

Projecting A Bright Future
According to InfoComm's Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., the AV market is enjoying a healthy 10 percent annual increase. There are several factors driving that growth, with the projector category at the core.
According to market research firm Pacific Media Associates, the projector market is averaging a 10 percent annual increase. The biggest contributing factor to the success of projector sales in North America is education, according to company president Bill Coggshall.
The government market, too, keeps its footing in line with the AV market. "The government is very much interested in its infrastructure," Lemke added, "and it's got some strong markets such as security and command and control centers." Lemke expects a significant representation of government AV professionals at InfoComm this year.
